Bertrand Fava (b.1983) studied history of art and practiced figure drawing at the Malta School of Arts between 2000 and 2011 significantly under mentor and artist Anton Grech (link).
In between 2004-05 he studied sumi-e (ink wash painting) in Osaka, Japan under sumi-e sensei master Kathleen Scott (link).
In 2023 he completed a Foundation Course in Oil Painting under the tutor Jennifer Whitten (link), a pencil portraiture workshop with artist Lucy Hardie (link), as well as creative workshop with Michael Vale (link)
In 2024, Bertrand extended his knowledge of the human head under the direction of art institution, The Art Room (link) by artist Erika Gofton (link). As well took a short clay modelling course, to develop more the knowledge of human anatomy by sculptor Alexander Esenarro (link)
Fava is pursuing his ambitions in drawing, painting and sculpture from his studio in Melbourne, Australia whilst as well attending regular life drawing classes.
